The Great Plains Tobacco Prevention Project (GPTPP) is funded under the Good Health and Wellness Program in Indian Country through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). GPTPP implements evidence-based commercial tobacco control and prevention activities to reach a larger segment of the American Indian population in the Great Plains. GPTPP is currently working on policy changes, tobacco cessation and fact sheet materials that are culturally relevant, and with providing technical assistance to the 18 tribes we work with to name a few. GPTPP aims to reduce death and disability caused by tobacco use given the disparities in the American Indian population.
