The Great Plains Colorectal Cancer Screening Initiative FluFit/iFOBT Toolkit guide is intended to assist Tribal clinics and Indian Health Service clinics to increase colorectal cancer screening rates in their communities. The FluFit/iFOBT program is an efficient and effective way to increase colorectal cancer screening. Clinic staff will be giving out Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) kits to patients due for colorectal cancer screening when they get their annual flu shot. Patients due for colorectal cancer screening through FIT need to be 50 and older and have not had an FIT in the past year or a colonoscopy in the past 10 years. The FluFit/iFOBT program is a population-based method, which has been shown to increase screening rates in a variety of settings, including community health fairs and other community events.
